With rising energy bills there has never been a better time for you to look at ways of reducing your energy consumption.

Investing in Solar can dramatically help reduce your energy bills, and an over-reliance on the National Grid for your electricity.

Time is also ticking on UK businesses being able to take advantage of the super tax deduction and SR allowance.

The government previously announced that for two years from 1 April 2021 until the end of March 2023, investments made in the main rate (main pool) plant and machinery would qualify for a 130% capital allowance deduction.

The announcement also included benefits from 50% first-year allowance for qualifying special rate (including long life) assets – known as the ‘SR allowance’.

  • ‘Super deduction’ includes all new plant and machinery that ordinarily qualifies for the 18% main pool rate of writing down allowances.
  • ‘SR allowance’ covers new plant and machinery qualifying for the 6% special rate pool, including integral features in a building and long-life asset.

If you invest in workplace EV chargers or Solar before March 2023, you could still qualify for super deduction or SR allowance.
